In the high times I feel that an anchor is not only an essentialy back up, but can activly hold you down (in a positive way) and keep you balanced (exactly as they use it on a ship, shifting it to act as balist and keep the ship balanced and from roling at speed. Another thing I wanted to add is care that one should employ when considering a new anchor (even when this will compliment the first, but esspecily when it will replace it, or even getting a first one). One must make esspecily sure that the anchor is a sturdy one, one that is light enough that it won't hold the "boat" down when its not needed but heavy enough to stop it when it is.
